Ride a motorbike? Our database of motorbike-friendly cafes, pubs, hotels and B&Bs has been compiled
by bikers like you. If you know of somewhere worth riding to, why not recommend it?
Now you can add BikerCafes to your TomTom!
BikerCafes is your ever-expanding list of motorbike-friendly cafes, pubs, hotels and lunch stops, compiled by bikers, for bikers.
It was created by a motorcyclist just like you, whose day job as a web developer gave him the skills to build a site to help others.
While searching for motorcycle-friendly cafes to stop for a quick brew during a ride-out, he became frustrated by having to trawl through often out-of-date recommendations with vague directions.
With BikerCafes, you know each venue has been checked out by at least one member, and you have the chance to rate each one and leave your own comments.
But the success of the BikerCafes project relies on you. We need you to tell us about your favourite haunts. If you know of a motorbike-friendly venue that isn't in our database, please submit a recommendation.
Remember, though: ride safe.
It's run by one guy, a biker, and a small team of volunteers who kindly donate their time to sift through recommendations.
No, in fact, at the moment it can barely pay for itself. The only revenue comes through advertising on the web site, which goes to help pay for the server and bandwidth.
You! Most of the cafes, pubs and hotels listed on BikerCafes come from recommendations by other bikers, like yourself.
The BikerCafes team will review the information, and fill in any gaps if necessary. We'll also check as much background information about the venue as we can. Sometimes we'll go as far as checking Companies House to ensure the venue is still trading.
We feel it's vital to be able to pinpoint a venue's location on the map. If you didn't include enough information in your recommendation to allow us to do that, or if we couldn't find it elsewhere, we might not be able to approve it.
The warm, fuzzy feeling inside that comes from knowing you're helping other bikers! In the future, we'd like to be able to offer prizes to those who submit the most recommendations.
We take any attempt to subvert the rating system seriously, as this belittles the contributions made by genuine visitors like yourself, and undermines the value of the site. If we detect irregular voting patterns, or any attempt to artificially inflate a venue's rating, we might choose to temporarily suspend voting.
We'd love to talk to you about this. You can drop us a line here.
