Honda stars Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow to appear at MCN London Motorcycle Show

21 Jan 2008: The stars of Honda's 2008 motorcycle range and racers Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow are scheduled to appear at this month's MCN London Motorcycle Show.

The show runs at ExCeL London from Thursday 31st January to Sunday 3rd February and promises to truly kick-start the 2008 motorcycling season.

Heading Honda's line-up at the London show is the all-new CBR1000RR Fireblade. With the 2007 version of this amazing machine winning last year's World Superbike title and successfully defending its British Superbike win, the new bike has a lot to live up to. The reports from the launch suggest that it has done that - and more. The new 2008 Fireblade has been developed with the championship-winning DNA of its predecessors and given the compact dimensions, mass-centralization technology and aggressive looks of Honda's RC212V MotoGP machine to provide owners with the ultimate in Supersports performance.

Two of our 2008 race stars - Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow - will be on-hand during the show talking about the new Fireblade and their British Superbike title aspirations with the Honda Racing HM Plant team. They attended the launch of the bike and were knocked out by the speed, power and poise the new CBR1000RR provides. They will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures on regular slots during the four-day show.

Also at the show will be Honda's long-serving Transalp, which has undergone a radical revamp to become the XL700V Transalp. The new 680cc V-twin motor comes with more power thanks to a fuel-injection system, which ensures a broad spread of power and a catalytic emission system for less impact on the environment. The updated version of the learner-friendly CBF600 series will also be at the MCN London Motorcycle Show. The 2008 model includes a new engine derived from the 2007 CBR600RR and Hornet models, but tuned for learner-friendly performance. Chassis, brakes and suspension have also been updated to go with its classy new look. ABS and value for money still come as standard. Honda's best-selling SCV100 Lead scooter has also received a makeover for 2008, so come and see this congestion-busting two-wheeler on Honda's stand.

Steve Martindale, General Manager, Honda (UK) Motorcycle Division commented; "2008 is going to be a really big year for Honda on all fronts. The excitement generated by the new CBR1000RR Fireblade has been immense and the feedback at the launch from Leon and Cal has been fantastic. We're hoping many motorcycle fans flock to the show and see our new bikes and hear first hand from both Leon and Cal how they're preparing for the 2008 British Superbike season."
